Automattic has published a new project called wp-now<\/a> that promises to create a local development environment in seconds.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is wp-now?<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

wp-now is a NodeJS application that allows you to launch a WordPress install locally within a few seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s engineered to allow developers to dive straight into a WordPress environment without the hassle of setting up servers, installing libraries and setting configurations.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It uses a php-wasm instance, downloads the selected WordPress version and mounts the directories using a virtual file system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
