When a plugin is activated, it runs code, queries databases, and performs various tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of these actions requires server resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Badly written or inefficient plugins can cause excessive CPU usage.
