What our new UK data centre accreditations mean for you

Let’s go through what these accolades mean and why they matter.

ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems

This standard is evidence that effective management processes are in place so you can be sure of consistent quality from all our services, from the performance of your hosting to customer support.

ISO 22300 – Business Continuity Management Systems

This one’s about resilience and showing external auditors that you’re doing everything possible to maintain maximum uptime.

An important part of this certification is that your services continue operating during and after disruptions (e.g. power outages and cyber-attacks).

ISO 27001 – Information Security Management

It’s our duty to protect your information, and the rock-solid systems we have in place to keep your confidential data secure means we meet this important standard.

M&O Uptime Institute Stamp of Approval

This globally recognised accreditation shows that the operational aspects of your data centre are excellent.

Areas assessed include staffing, training, maintenance and processes with a focus on reducing human error.

OCP-Ready

The Open Compute Project’s “OCP-Ready” recognition certifies that a data centre meets their technical specifications for efficient, scalable and open-source hardware, appropriate for high-density computing and hyperscale workloads.

Cyber Essentials Plus

This annually renewed National Cyber Security Centre certification demonstrates our robust protection against the latest cyber security threats.

It builds on the basic Cyber Essentials certification and verifies our network, including internet gateways and servers, meets stringent security standards.

Certain government and private contracts mandate this level of certification, and we’re proud to be eligible.

ISAE 3000 SOC2 (Type 2)

System and Organization Controls’ Type 2 certification builds on Type 1 by testing that our controls and procedures for security, availability and data protection are consistently effective over time.

Green Hosting Credentials

The 400 terawatt-hours of power that the internet uses each a year adds up to 3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, so we’ve always strived to develop our platform to be as efficient as possible.

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems

This certification centres on sustainability and confirms that we handle our environmental responsibilities and comply with regulations.

It covers areas like waste management, energy use, sustainability and emissions.

ISO 50001 – Energy Management Systems

Every aspect of power delivery is audited, from the supply to the building through to how backup generators operate and even onto the way we keep our servers cool.

Gaining this certification shows that we’ve done everything we can to reduce energy consumption and enhance efficiency.

BREEAM Excellent (5 Stars)

Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method is a leading global standard for assessing the sustainability of buildings and infrastructure.

An ‘Excellent’ rating indicates superior environmental performance in energy efficiency, water use, materials and ecological impact.
