Do I have to run a limited company to buy a .ltd domain?
No, anyone can get one, on a first-come, first-served basis. The standard domain rules apply, but beyond those, anyone can register a ‘.ltd’ name, even if they don’t run a company.
How would I transfer my .ltd domain to 20i save on renewal fees?
You’ll need to get the domain name authorisation code (EPP code) from your current provider.
Then, you need to search for it in our ‘Transfer a domain’ tool in our control panel, My20i. You can then start the transfer, which can take up to five days (usually less, and your website will remain online).
Once transferred you’ll start saving on renewals. For further information about all domain transfers - including details on specific providers - please see How do I transfer my domain to you?
Will I get a free year for transferring a .ltd domain?
You won’t lose any time already paid for on your .ltd domain by transferring to 20i and once the domain transfer has completed you’ll get an additional year applied for free!
Should I register other versions of my .ltd domain name?
To protect your brand, we’d recommend buying other versions of your company name with different popular top-level domains, if they’re available.
